Those who follow the blog for some time you may know that I love pixelated things, from simple invitation is a creative leaf grid patterns with post-it notes or pieces of jewelry to the interactivity of a code QR.
Mathematical language, logic, language and binary pixel art come together in this wonderful game. So the first time I was introduced to the game of life with this video I was fascinated:
The universe of the Game of Life is an infinite two-dimensional orthogonal grid (eg, a table or matrix) of individual cells, each of which has two possible states: alive or dead. Every cell interacts with its eight neighbors, which are the cells to which it is connected horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Each unit of time, the following transitions occur: Every living cell with fewer than two live neighbors dies (loneliness). Any live cell with more than three live neighbors dies (of sobreconcentració). Any live cell with two or three live neighbors, still alive for the next generation. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbors baby milestones comes to life.
The initial pattern constitutes the seed of the system. The first generation is created by applying the rules simultaneously to every cell in the mesh. The rules still apply repeatedly to create further generations.
If you want to play ... In this link you will find the game. At home we have played all, we've had a great time. While children are still young to understand (or rather to remember) all the rules, they can explore patterns and shapes, remember simple rules, such that q
